SQS and Vescent to Unveil Quantum Photonics Demo and First-of-its-Kind Testbed Program at Space Symposium
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — April 7, 2025
Vescent CEO and Co-Founder, Scott Davis, speaks at Space Symposium
Secured Quantum Services (SQS), a Colorado-based leader in quantum-secure communications infrastructure, will unveil a joint technology demonstration with Vescent during the 40th Space Symposium on Wednesday, April 9th from 12:00–1:00 PM MT at the Space ISAC Booth (#1247).
SQS, headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, delivers hybrid quantum-classical communication solutions designed to protect critical infrastructure, national security, space, and aerospace applications. The company is building the world’s first quantum utility—offering deployable quantum communication systems that can be integrated today to address tomorrow’s threats.
Vescent, headquartered in Golden, CO is leading and enabling the commercialization of Quantum Technologies in the lab and in the field, providing rugged, low-SWaP frequency combs, lasers, and controls to hundreds of global customers on the front lines of the commercial quantum ecosystem. Vescent is working to overcome the challenges of scaling out Quantum 2.0.
Together, the two companies will showcase how quantum communications, integrated photonics, and classical-quantum orchestration can be used to enable secure, scalable communications in mission-critical environments.
Joint quantum hardware demonstration from SQS and Vescent
SQS, in partnership with Space-ISAC, is announcing the launch of Quantum Testbed & Proving Ground, a first-of-its-kind controlled environment hosted within Space ISAC where select companies can participate in a paid pilot program to validate their technologies and use cases in quantum-secure, zero-trust, high-compute settings.
“We built the Quantum Testbed to help early movers safely validate, refine, and prepare their systems for the quantum era,” said Ray Schouten, CEO of SQS. This is the path to deployment for quantum—grounded in real-world constraints and real infrastructure. If you're serious about security and speed, this is where you start.”
“We’re excited to collaborate with SQS on this early demo in the spirit of bringing operational quantum systems into the real world,” said Scott Davis, CEO of Vescent.
The SQS Quantum Testbed offers tiered pilot participation levels, allowing companies to enter at lower investment thresholds and validate specific use cases before scaling to full system integration. The program is ideal for startups, defense primes, aerospace innovators, and government-aligned organizations looking to explore secure quantum communications, compute, and architecture in a trusted environment.
SQS will be on-site at Booth #1247 to discuss:
● Your technology stack
● Use case design for the testbed
● Pilot enrollment options
● Partner collaboration opportunities
Limited slots available, companies interested in participating can express interest in person or via email.
